The United Nations Orchestra played a programme of lively, uplifting classics for the 2013 Fête de la Musique in the Victoria Hall on Sunday 23 June at 3.30 pm.

This free concert featured young virtuoso violinist Alexandra Conunova-Dumortier and well-known and festive works of the classical repertoire:

Verdi: Overture “La forza del destino”
Saint-Saëns: Introduction et rondo capricioso for violin and orchestra
Tchaikovsky: Waltz of the Flowers from “The Nutcracker”
Suppe: Light Cavalry Overture
Mascagni: Intermezzo from “Cavaliera rusticana”
J. Strauss: Fledermaus overture
Sarasate: Carmen fantasy for violin and orchestra
